ETAS INCA V7.1 - New Features
ETAS INCA is the first choice worldwide for the majority of measurement and calibration tasks. The new version INCA V7.1 of the Integrated Measurement, ECU Calibration and Diagnostic Environment by ETAS makes quick work of day-to-day tasks – even with the most complex control systems. INCA V7.1 comes with maximized system performance; with INCA V7.1, even ECU projects featuring high amounts of measurements and calibration parameters can be quickly handled by the user. Large experiments open decidedly faster. Plus, opening and working with the variable selection dialog has been noticeably expedited. When acquiring data, INCA V7.1 utilizes all available processor kernels of a multi-core PC. The display of the new INCA oscilloscope is handled by the PC’s graphics adapter, which unburdens the main processor. During recording it is possible to index measurement files, making opening and working with the respective data in the ETAS MDA V7.1 quite a bit faster.
- Provision for fast handling of large ECU projects
- Exploitation of the full computing power of multi-core PCs
- New, high-performance oscilloscope with extended display options
- Comparing of calibration data concurrently with ongoing experiment
- Graphical display of test track routes in the Measured Data Analyzer (ETAS MDA) based on GPS data
- Support of the new ETAS ES415 High Definition A/D-Module with Sensor Supply and the new ETAS ES930 Multi-I/O-Module

Use Case: Understanding external bypass variants
( FAQ / Use Case – ASCET-RP, ES910, INTECRIO, INTECRIO-RLINK )
Understanding external bypass variants
Getting the best performance from a ES910 bypass set up
External bypassing is a common method to rapidly prototype or enhance an ECU algorithm. Data read from the ECU is used as inputs to the bypass algorithm which is created using modelling tools like Simulink or ASCET and executed externally on the ES910. The output of the bypass is fed back into the ECU and used instead of the output of the algorithm calculated on the ECU itself.
With this method, the new algorithm can be tested in a real time and closed-loop environment before undergoing the effort implicated by the process of developing ECU production software.

Use Case: Integrating eval board hardware in ASCET build environment
( FAQ / Use Case – ASCET V6.4, ASCET-MD, ASCET-SE )
Integrating evalboard hardware in ASCET build environment
Setting up real time hardware with ASCET (I)
Do you know this challenge?
Quickly setting up an evaluation board (EVB) as hardware prototype for evaluation or demonstration of an algorithm, or bus simulation of one or more ECUs or sensors for a real time stimulation or closed loop testing can have immense benefits in the development process of real time embedded systems. Development environments often provided with EVBs make it easy to integrate the hardware, but require tedious and error-prone development of the (probably integer arithmetic) algorithm in C and can not be used with standard automotive tools such as INCA as they do not provide an a2l description.

Effektive Security-Tests am HiL-System
( Technical Article – LABCAR System )

Engineering Hardware Extension for ETAS RTPC V6.2.2
( Refresh / Update / Software – LABCAR-RTPC )
Engineering Hardware Extension for ETAS RTPC V6.2.2
For installation of Engineering Hardware Extension package please follow the instructions given in chapter 4.2.3 “Functions - Installation/Update” ETAS RTPC users guide.
The installation package provides additional hardware drivers developed as customer specific solution with previous versions of ETAS RTPC and reused “as-is” in the current RTPC software.
It is not part of the RTPC product but has been included in RTPC software release tests and passed successfully as not to introduce side effects into the functionality of other parts of RTPC software.
Nevertheless the functionality provided by the hardware drivers has not been tested and needs to be checked thoroughly. ETAS GmbH accepts no further obligation in relation to this hardware extension.
If you need more detailed information about the contents of the hotfixes, please feel free to contact your regional Customer Support.
